OBITUARY:

Gary Morton Weaver, affectionately known as “The Big Weave”, was born November 18, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland to Esther Sollers Weaver and Garland Weaver Sr. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2019.

Gary was educated in the Washington, DC public school system, graduating from Dunbar High School. He worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 1989.

Gary married Jacqueline Gamble on July 2, 1966 and they were married for 53 years. They were blessed with their daughter Kimberly Anne Weaver.

Gary loved football, was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and took great enjoyment in trash-talking Washington Redskins fans. He also loved watching old westerns on television, reading Walter Mosely novels, and especially being with his family and friends.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and watcher of Jeopardy. He was a limitless source of advice and wisdom.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline G. Weaver; daughter Kimberly Weaver-Campbell (William); grandchildren Alexis Bell, Terrence Bell II, Jynnea Campbell, William Campbell II; great-grandchildren Michael, Crystal, Kenneth, Jordan and Nevaeh; brother Garland R. Weaver, Jr; brothers in-law Theotrice Gamble (Barbara), Whittley Gamble (Mary); sisters in-law Sarah Burks, Mary Baltimore, Verona Pittman and a host of dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Gary touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
